Pig Roast, Outdoor Concert, Council Vacancy This Week

Madison school board scheduled to meet.

Borough Council: Madison's governing body is scheduled to meet at 8 p.m. Monday in Hartley Dodge Memorial. The council is expected to discuss who it will appoint to fill a vacancy left by the resignation of Councilwoman Jeannie Tsukamoto.

Board of Education: The school board is scheduled to meet at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Madison High School library. It's the board's first meeting since schools opened Friday.

Farmers' Market: The Madison Farmers Market is open from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday on Green Village Road off Main Street.

Outdoor Concert: A band that describes itself as sounding like "a Brazilian Carnaval in the Appalachian Mountains" is coming to Madison Friday to wrap up the Downtown Concert Series. Matuto is scheduled to perform from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Museum of Early Trades & Crafts.

Pig Roast: The Madison Volunteer Ambulance Corps is holding a pig roast fundraiser from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday as part of its annual fundraising campaign. The corps' car raffle also is under way. First prize will be a 2013 Honda Accord. For more information visit madisonems.org
