Madison Man Had Knife During Alleged Assault, Cops Say

No one injured in incident that resulted in 30-year-old resident's arrest.

A 30-year-old Madison man was charged with aggravated assault and possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes after police responded to a report of an assault with a knife at a Main Street home, authorities said.

Anthony Hernandez, 30, was arrested at 6:45 p.m. Saturday by Patrolman Luis Goncalves, according to a police news release.

Detective Lt. Dennis Lam said no one was injured.

Hernandez also was charged with simple assault, criminal mischief and violation of a restraining order, police said. He was taken to the Morris County jail in lieu of $5,000 bail.
