Firefighter's Wife Repays $11K, Enters Pretrial Intervention Program
Embezzling charge against borough resident could be dismissed, according to a news report.
The wife of a volunteer Madison firefighter who was charged in May with embezzling more than $11,000 from the fire department's members over several years has repaid the funds and been accepted into Pretrial Intervention, according to a news report.
Susan Russo will be on probation for more than a year and must complete community service as part of the Pretrial Intervention program, which, once completed, would result in the charge being dismissed, The Star-Ledger reported Wednesday.
Police alleged Russo booked hotel rooms for members who attended an annual firefighters' convention in Wildwood and pocketed $11,404 in leftover money instead of refunding it to members between 2007 and 2012.
