Cory Booker to Speak at FDU

College affordability is topic of Tuesday's talk.

U.S. Senate-hopeful Cory Booker will be on FDU's Madison campus Tuesday to discuss college affordability.

The mayor of Newark is scheduled to speak at the College at Florham as part of the Fall 2013 Politics on the PublicMind series, the university has announced.

His talk is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. to 3:15 p.m. in Lenfell Hall, Hennessy Hall. For more information call 973-443-8927.

In 2012, Booker received an honorary degree from FDU and spoke at commencement. He also talked to students in a lecture coordinated by the Office of Student Life, Educational Opportunity Fund and Diversity Council.

Booker is the Democratic nominee in a special Oct. 16 election to fill the Senate seat of Frank Lautenberg. The Republican nominee is former Bogota mayor Steve Lonegan.
