Angel C. Duncan, Neighbor
- Madison, NJ
I am the Programs Director for Senior Helpers, a national in-home care company based in Madison, NJ and an adjunct professor in San Francisco, CA and New Haven, CT teaching graduate psychology and art therapy studies. Through Senior Helpers I provide professional and public health education programs, art therapy sessions, healthcare professional in-services, and dementia training. I also facilitate early memory loss support groups for those with a diagnosis, and am active in the community developing collaborative arts and wellbeing projects.
Nationally, I speak on issues related to Alzheimer's disease, healthy aging and art therapy and have lectured in high schools, universities and corporate environments. I am also a published author of graduate and medical textbooks. In addition to my work with Senior Helpers, I serve as the Executive Director for Cognitive Connections, a non-profit arts training program for those with neurological disorders. My background is in counseling psychology and art therapy with attention to neurology. I have extensive experience in adult and geriatric psychiatry and dementia care.
In my spare time, I enjoy acting for theatre, film and television. Currently, I am active in the Northern NJ community theatre industry, particularly at Westfield Community Players. To reach me contact (973) 360-1500 or email: aduncan@seniorhelpers.com
