Fire Damages Whippany Home
Police say no one was home at the time of the blaze.
A fire tore through a Polhemus Terrace home in the Whippany section of Hanover on Friday morning, and firefighters and investigators were on scene working to determine what caused the blaze. Hanover Police Lt. Mark Roddy said the fire was reported at 8:28 a.m. and no one was home at the time. Firefighters were dealing with icing hazards because of freezing temperatures, Roddy said. Fire departments in Madison, Morris Plains and Florham Park were among those called to assist with the blaze.
