Gun Law Discussion, Book Launch, Museum Tour This Week

A look at the week ahead in the Rose City.

Borough Council Meeting: Gun laws are expected to be a topic of discussion at the Madison Borough Council meeting scheduled for 8 p.m. Monday at Hartley Dodge Memorial. "Assault weapon legislation and equipment demonstration" is one of the items on the agenda. Colin Dunne taking the volunteer firefighter oath, the awarding of various contracts, and a presentation recognizing The Friends of the Madison Shade Trees also is on the agenda. That's easy. New Jersey is second in the country in violent crimes per 100,000 housholds, 329.30 crimes /100,000 households. Interestingly, it is also the state with the second lowest rate of loaded firearms per household, with 1.2%. With the strict gun control we have, and the huge public safety budget, how is this possible?   more ›
