Hair We Are Is Readers' Choice for Prom Salon

"The Family Salon" on Park Avenue is this week's pick.

This week's Readers' Choice asked you to tell us about your favorite salons for prom hairdos. Most of the reviews, comments, ratings and votes this week centered on two salons in particular: Hair We Are and DownTown Salon, though several other salons on the list have received rave four- and five-star reviews on their listing pages, too. Although questions came up about this week's poll results, whether or not we factor the poll into determining the winner, Hair We Are still gets dubbed Readers' Choice because of the number of positive reviews, such as this one from Lucy Porter: Everyone is so considerate, pleasant, and helpful. The Waverly Is Readers' Choice for Breakfast

"The best pancakes ever and a mozzarella omelet to die for," one reader says.

This week's Readers' Choice unintentionally left off a few breakfast spots in Madison when we compiled our list of contenders. By Monday afternoon, several readers made us aware of the ommissions, including one that was deemed particularly outrageous—The Waverly Restaurant. The missing eateries were added and, despite the late start, The Waverly rallied to win in the best breakfast category, easily garnering the most votes plus a five-star review. Since 1982, The Waverly has been a friendly local hangout on Waverly Place. The menu includes deli items, hot specials, sandwiches and breakfast specials. This week's contest asked about breakfast, and several readers let us know what's best. Rich Deo writes, Best pancakes, waffles and omelets as…

Without a doubt, Chatham Sports. It's local, it's Chatham and Terry knows the business better than anyone you can find at a mall or on the highway. Selection is great and the service is not just knowledgable, but patient and friendly. I'm old enough to remember "Morty's" which holds fond memories.
