Chatham Woman Had 3 Failure to Appear Warrants in Madison

The following arrest information was supplied by the Madison Police Department. It does not indicate convictions.

The Madison Police Department arrested Felicia Monday, 45, of Chatham Borough, on Sunday on the strength of three failure to appear warrants for traffic and criminal offenses issued by Madison Municipal Court in the amount of $600. Patrolman Anthony Maccario, who made the arrest, was contacted by the Summit Police Department, which had Monday in custody. She was taken to headquarters for processing. After processing she was taken to the Morris County Correctional Facility in lieu of bail, pending a mandatory court appearance. On Feb. 15, at approximately 7:15 p.m., Patrolman Luis Goncalves arrested Nicholas Merced, 18, of Union, and charged him with possession of marijuana. Teen Charged With Underage Alcohol Possession

The Madison Police Department blotter finds a teen facing multiple alcohol charges while a warrant ensnares another driver. On Feb. 2 at 3:13 a.m., Ptl. Paul Papamarkos arrested 19-year-old Kaminiben Joshi of Galloway, N.J. He charged her with underage possession of alcohol and having an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle. Papamarkos while on patrol had stopped to check on Kaminiben’s vehicle that was parked on Madison Avenue with its flashers on. He discovered she was allegedly in possession of alcohol. She was taken to headquarters for processing and released pending a mandatory court appearance. On Feb. 4 at 8:36 p.m., Ptl. Matthew Mirabella arrested 52-year-old Niranjan Saravanapavan of Summit on the strength of a $114 …

Chatham Township Man Arrested on Outstanding Madison Warrant

The following information was obtained directly from the Chatham Township Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Kenneth Finnen, 44, of Chatham Township was arrested Monday for an equipment violation and outstanding warrants from Madison and Chatham. Ptl. Michael Sawyer stopped a vehicle on Pine Street for an equipment violation, according to police. A subsequent check determined that the driver, Finnen, had a suspended license and warrants for his arrest, police said. Finnen was placed under arrest, transported to police headquarters and later released after posting bail of $1,000, according to police. The warrants, one each from Chatham and Madison, were issued after Finnen failed to appear in court to answer prior charges for driving with a suspended license, police said. Finnen is scheduled to appear in municipal court on Jan. 24.

Madison Woman Arrested on Drug Charges

The following arrest information was supplied by the Chatham Township Police Department. It does not indicate convictions.

Chatham Township Police arrested a Madison woman Tuesday after she was transported to a hospital on a possible drug overdose. Patrolman Michael Bloom was dispatched to a Green Village Road residence for a possible drug overdose Tuesday at 9:35 p.m., police said. After conducting an investigation of the residence, Julianne Fischetta, 22, of Madison was arrested for allegedly possessing prescription drugs in an unmarked bottle without a prescription, according to police. Fischetta was transported to police headquarters, processed and released on her own recognizance, police said. She is scheduled for a first appearance in municipal court on Feb. 14. The suspected overdose victim, described as a 22-year-old, was transported to Morristown …

Man Arrested For Allegedly Possessing Marijuana At Drew

The following arrest information was supplied by the Madison Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

A Hoboken man was charged with possession of marijuana by Madison police on Thursday night. Paul Serrano, 20, was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia after being stopped by Drew Public Safety for allegedly possessing the drug. Drew contacted Patrolman Matthew Mirabella, who took Serrano to headquarters for processing. Serrano was released, pending a mandatory court appearance. Other arrests last week in Madison included: The Madison Police Department, Fire Department and Volunteer Ambulance Corps responded to approximately 18 medical emergencies last week. The Madison Police Department investigated nine motor vehicle crashes during the same period.  

Madison Resident Allegedly Fired Handgun In Home

56-year-old man charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

A 56-year-old Madison man has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after an incident at his apartment on Friday. Madison police arrested William J. Barrett after Patrolman Matthew Mirabella and Sgt. Peter Iossa responded to his apartment when a family member reported he had fired a handgun inside the home. After a field investigation by Mirabella, Barrett was placed under arrest. Det. Paul Kosakowski and the Morris County Sheriff’s Department Crime Scene Unit also conducted an investigation, alleging that Barrett had fired the weapon and was illegally in possession of it. Along with the aggravated assault charge, Barrett was also charged with unlawful possession of a handgun, possession of a weapon for unlawful …

Man Arrested After Allegedly Shoplifting at Stop & Shop

Police say 59-year-old took $26 worth of items.

A 59-year-old Convent Station resident was arrested for allegedly shoplifting at Stop & Shop in Madison on Aug. 23. Daniel Bergeron was allegedly inside the store parking lot acting suspicious when he was stopped by Madison Patrolman Ken Shannon. After a computer check revealed an active arrest warrant for Bergeron issued by Hanover Township Municipal Court in the amount of $707 for failure to appear in court, police said Shannon further discovered Bergeron had allegedly shoplifted $26 worth of items from the store. Bergeron was transported to headquarters for processing and released to the authorities of Hanover Township pending a mandatory court appearance.

Florham Park Man and Minor Arrested for Alleged Pot Possession

The following arrest information was supplied by the Madison Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Two men, one underage, are facing drug charges after being arrested by Madison police. On June 28 at approximately 3:21 p.m., Madison Ptl. Craig Perrelli arrested 18-year-old Anthony Darcangelo of Florham Park and charged him with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Perrelli initially stopped Darcangelo, who was parked suspiciously in Summer Hill Park. After a short field investigation,  detected the odor of marijuana coming from the interior of the vehicle. He determined that he was allegedly in possession of narcotics and drug paraphernalia. A 16-year-old male juvenile who was in the vehicle was also arrested. They were both taken to headquarters for processing. Darcangelo was released pending a mandatory court …

Police Arrest Driver Wanted on Multiple Warrants

On June 17 at 3:15 p.m., Madison Police Ptl. Chad Rybka arrested Jenise Locket, 35, of Elizabeth on the strength of traffic warrants issued by Union Municipal Court and Jersey City Municipal Court. Rybka initially stopped Locket for a motor vehicle violation on Main Street. He ran a computer check on her name and was alerted that there was traffic arrest warrants for her totaling $220 dollars. She was taken to headquarters for processing and released pending mandatory court appearances in Union and Jersey City courts. Locket was also issued a motor vehicle summons for failure to inspect her vehicle. The Madison Police Department, Fire Department, and Volunteer Ambulance Corps responded to approximately nine medical emergencies during the …

The Blotter: Alleged DUI, Underage Alcohol Arrests

Feb. 20 a busy day for Madison lawmen.

Madison police had a busy week with a number of alleged charges ranging from driving under the influence to violation of a restraining order. The most recent police blotter shows three arrests on Feb. 20 alone. Read on for details. At 2:11 a.m. on Feb. 20, Patrolman Matthew Mirabella arrested 24-year-old James Fagan of Bloomsbury, N.J. He charged him with allegedly violating a restraining order issued by Morris County Superior Court. Mirabella had contacted Fagan to come to police headquarters. He was processed and released pending a mandatory court appearance. Later that early morning, Ptl. Sean McCarthy arrested Victor Jimenez, 25, of Plainfield, N.J. He charged him with driving under the influence. McCarthy was contacted by Drew …
