Letter: 'Easter Fun Fest a Great Success'

Light rain didn't deter families or Easter Bunny, Peter Daniele writes.

Peter Daniele, vice president of the Madison Chamber of Commerce, thanks families, businesses and officials who helped make this year's Easter Fun Fest "a great success," in the following letter. On behalf of the Madison Chamber of Commerce, I would like to thank all of the families who came downtown on Saturday, March 31, to celebrate Easter with all the businesses. Our fifth Easter Fun Fest was a great success thanks to your participation. The morning began with cool temperatures and some light rain, however, that did not discourage the events of the day. Families came and enjoyed exchanging greetings and spending time with the Easter Bunny while collecting Easter eggs around town. Families got to take a chance to win a bicycle supplied …

Families Fill Downtown for Easter Egg Hunt [VIDEO]

Despite rainy weather, hundreds turn out for fourth annual Easter Fun Fest.

Colorful baskets, balloons, raincoats and umbrellas brightened Madison's downtown Saturday for the fourth annual Easter Fun Fest. On what was shaping up to be an otherwise dreary day, hundreds of children and families went from business to business in search of candy-filled plastic eggs and snapped photos with the Easter Bunny. For children, the event offered a chance to win a new bike donated by Peter Daniele of Rose City Collision. For the 30 participating merchants, the event was an opportunity to share with the community and show off what is new for the spring, said John Morris, president of the Madison Chamber of Commerce, which sponsors the event. Madison's downtown has been busy, Morris said. "The main thing we see is people are …

Hearty Appetites Encouraged for Taste of Madison

In its ninth year, event will be hosted at Fairleigh Dickinson on Monday.

Over 30 restaurants are participating in this year's edition of Taste of Madison, which will be held on Monday night from 7 - 9 in the Ferguson Recreation Center at Fairleigh Dickinson University. Those attending the event, which is in its ninth year, will be able to sample signature dishes from the participating borough restuarants. Four local wine shops will offer wines and spirits to go with the meals. Other treats, like tricky trays and a silent auction, will be held for items, some of which are valued at $1,000 or more.  "This gives [the restaurants] good exposure: visitors try a new restaurant and dish all in one night," said Carmella Moeller, a Co-chair for the event. According to Moeller, the Taste of Madison event, which draws …
