Junior's record-setting pace has highlighted terrific Dodger season.
In only his junior campaign, Madison’s Justin Goodwin has already compiled a resume that rivals some of the greatest players in Morris County history. To say that Goodwin is having a "special season" really doesn’t do it enough justice, as the 192 points scored through 11 games this season sit him atop the Morris County scoring standings–and primed to enter the record books. While Goodwin says the only goal remaining this season is to repeat as state champs, the truth remains that the Madison junior's second-straight trip to Kean University in the month of December is rife with individual implications. With Goodwin just eight points shy of 200 on the season, Friday night against Summit will be his final shot at becoming only the sixth …

Despite an overhaul in the backfield, Madison remains consistent on the ground.
No matter how big the stage, the Madison football team’s offensive approach is always clear. With a run-first mentality, the Dodgers have essentially been daring each and every opponent they face this season to stop what they already know is coming. And for 24 consecutive games, Madison has proven that what they do–run the football–they do pretty darn well. The next stop on the consecutive wins bus comes on Friday night, as Madison takes its Ground & Pound offense to Kean University, where it will once again dare an opponent to stop it. This time, the opponent is Summit. And this time there's a North Jersey Section 2, Group II championship on the line. “I think we can [run the ball on anybody] with the backs we have,” quarterback Carson …

Junior could become 2nd Dodger quarterback to win 12 games in season.
If replacing an elite player is a difficult task, then replacing an elite player on an elite team has got to be one pressure-filled endeavor. For quarterback Carson Lassiter, that was the exact scenario, as the Madison High School junior was thrust into the starting role following a brilliant season by the Matt McHale-led state championship team of 2010. With question marks littering the Madison roster entering a season that followed one of the Dodgers' most successful ever, Lassiter's preparation and ability would truly be tested. And as Madison gets set for a North 2, Group II state championship game against Summit on Friday night, it's become quite clear that the junior immediately helped answer some of those preseason questions. …

Forget about Rex, the national anthem (no doubt important to all americans), or the Summit fans. The fact is Madison kicked the living %*#t out of Summit despite all the prior weeks of hype that Madison was going to get "spanked". It was an absolute blow-out that even put Summit's coach in a state of shock! Madison lost a lot of good lineman seniors and hopeful that a bunch of guys step up and …   more ›
