remember back a few years when there was a fire in the same area. It was much worse than this oneRead More and spread to the parkway and then jumped the parkway. I had friends on Grand Central and their house just suffered some smoke damage, but their neighbors two doors down lost everything. Fire is a terrible thing. You never know with the winds what will happen. Recommend
Sandi Schwartz April 24, 2014 at 11:48 pm
Gotta tell you I felt the same way about that video. Your choice of not editing out that commentRead More taking the Lords name in vain was something that I thought only bothered ME. Seeing those last two comments made me feel better. At least I know that I wasn't the only one who felt this way. You shot a good video capturing a ferocious fire but you also offended people like myself with your tasteless and careless lack of unedited audio that was SO un-necessary to be contained within a good piece of reporting. It SHOULD have been edited out. Shame on you. Kick your journalism up a notch!!
Chuck Below April 25, 2014 at 12:33 am
People are so sensitive it's comical! How many peoples lives(including fire, police, rescue, andRead More local residents) were in danger when she was shooting this video?? She's standing in the middle of a war zone and said "Jesus Christ" and that upset people?! I say the overly sensitive, politically correct, richeous people are BEAT and have so deal with it and get over yourselves. I also say that the woman shooting the video for US to watch (standing in immediate danger to get a video, for her job, should not have to watch what she says and take heat from readers! It's unbelievable to me how weird people are sometimes. I'm really wondering if the offended commenters were just joking. If not, read your comment again, consider the situation, and let us know if you're embarrassed and really that perfect to where this woman doesn't get a pass from you!
Chuck Below April 25, 2014 at 12:45 am
"Kick your journalism up a notch" hahahaaa I'm lol'n right now from that!! Wow SandyRead More Schwartz....nevermind. I can't right now with this... Ms Schwartz, that comment that you wrote is pure comedy. I mean let me please ask you this, what is it like to be SOOO dam perfect?? I'm dying to know! Now I can see why you're "offended". It just clicked that you ARE Jesus Christ. Ok, my fault, sorry bout that JC. Is this real? Is this real life right now??

Oh MY!!! This thread has some potential after all. So we all meet again; @grace, @Joey Joe, @ Mr.Read More Happy. @Spooner and @Linda Maloney, who is missing?
Joey Joe April 24, 2014 at 05:22 am
@Linda Maloney, @Spooner - Hiya Linda, Hiya Grace, Hiya Spooner... Yeah I was away for most of theRead More winter... and had limited access to "The Patch." When I retired I sold my business to a couple of guys who worked for me - they got a VERY BIG order and asked if I'd come back for a couple of months to help them out - I felt compelled to help them given the fact that they had always been very devoted and dedicated employee's when I owned the business and had to help them out so off I went - now that the order is filled I'm back to retirement again.... FEELS GOOD !!!!!! @Spooner, yes you are totally correct I re-read my post re: Michigan and AAP - and realized that I worded it wrong...my bad as it were...and yes, I do agree that 'FIMF II' and 'Proud' are one in the same. I don't know why 'Proud' disappeared and haven't noted FIMF II posting these last few days/week.... SO, who knows what the deal is.
Linda Maloney April 24, 2014 at 07:13 am
@Joey Joe It certainly is good hearing from you! I saw you on this thread and another I was onRead More earlier, I should have said "HELLO" earlier, but people always yell at me for getting off-topic (I'm starting not to care what people think) it's ok occasionally to stray. I've missed having us all on the same thread like we used to, it was always enjoyable, humorous and quite entertaining! These past few days were the first time in awhile that I saw spooner and Mr. Happy posting in quite some time, I know they don't always see eye to eye, but both are intelligent and have much to offer! I've been on many threads with Grace all winter and I've always enjoyed exchanges with her. I wouldn't worry about FIMF II missing, maybe just taking a break! Perhaps we all will meet again on another thread and really throw "Patch World" upside down? P.S. How long do you think it will be before we gat chastised for being off topic? LOL

Bail is high for a reason... Innocent people do not get a high bail. Are you joking? Why don't youRead More report on real news like the women who is fighting to keep her children away from her ex- husband who molested their daughter?
Kevin April 24, 2014 at 11:38 am
This must be a joke. I am a former NYC Prosecutor but I am also very liberal politically. But itRead More seems to me, that this case in the article shows that the New Jersey system of bail is working just fine. Who cares what his family has had to give up trying to post bail. I don't want this guy on the streets. And with these heavy charges, he certainly has a good basis to try and flee if bail is posted.

its funny how alot of people are calling him a terrorist like who knows if he really did it. and theRead More fuck is everyone talking about THE UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT TRAINED TERRORISTS. Boy, that cop really nailed this guy on multiple marijuana counts. The young man is lucky thatRead More driving on a rim is not illegal otherwise they would have really thrown the book at him. AT least he must have had his seat belt on.
The Good Guy April 16, 2014 at 09:11 am
I wish the cops would also pull over all the idiots who don't use their turn signals, drive over theRead More lines on the road as if they aren't there, ignore the speed limits, and tailgate.

Drugs are on the way! If demand is there, and we know it is, supply will follow. It'sRead More Microeconomics 101, even a "caveman" can understand!
Not Domino April 15, 2014 at 01:50 pm
Sad but true, Clay. With these guys behind bars, others will move in to fill the gap. Where there isRead More big easy money to be made, someone will try to make it. Remove the demand, and the supply will fade away. That's the only way to make a long term change.

@John...now I understand what u were stating. Thank you for elaborating. I too get a bit frustratedRead More at the way they chose to word things in the stories they write. However, I do find it quite humorous to read some of the comments made n how upset n defensive some of the ppl get.

Crime courtesy of the highway system. Great job to the Officers in removing this piece of garbageRead More from Main Street. I wish you both a speedy recovery. I hope that the lawmakers eventually make the decision to allow tasers in NJ. If they had a taser, the man would have been on the floor in a second, preventing the injuries to the Officers one would think. Right ? I hope this guy at least got a self defense necessary punch in the nose and afoot to the baaaaaalllzzzz.
MaxDuPont April 12, 2014 at 07:34 pm
The doc is guilty of a crime, makes him a criminal. Criminals are no role models for any civilizedRead More community. He doesn't need a public flogging, he just needs to be gone from the school, and he will be soon. Stay tuned. Christian: As I said, I don't know the partner or partners, if they're not clean, find out and get rid of them. Ken Dahl claimed to have overheard the partners father talking about things before the news - ask him to pursue that with the Feds. I don't believe in chiros anyway, so one less quack will be even better! Timothy J: Since you cannot defend the doctors crime or address the issue of whether he should be on the town payroll looking after kids, you choose to attack me and my parents. Bravo, it shows your character and the "grace" that Nancy so fervently wishes for - and in all her grace she praised your personal attack. Wonderful, you are both lowlifes and I'm glad never to have known you - that's the beauty of anonymity. Yes, you're welcome to have the last word.
Nancy April 12, 2014 at 07:48 pm
Oh dear, Max. Quite the victim. And rather prone to hyperbole. Lowlife? Really. Well, I'm gratefulRead More there are people of compassion out there, and I really hope that, at a low time in your life, you find yourself surrounded by people who would show you compassion. I know I would. So, I think this conversation has run its course.
BeardedMike April 21, 2014 at 08:11 am
Well said Nancy. I've sparred with Max several times on Patch. He can't avoid the hyperbole. I'mRead More not even sure he understands that he has a tendency to generalize and negatively label people with whom he disagrees. Still, I'm with you: I hope people treat Max better when he is at a low point, instead of labeling him as such.

Emma April 5, 2014 at 05:29 pm
I see the self-esteem police have taken over the Patch, just as they have taken over publicRead More education. This bank-robbing loser was put in the Morris County "Correctional Facility." We can't say "jail" any more? Bad for inmates' self-esteem? Just like in school where the standards are lowered so everyone gets on the honor roll and the national honor society, every athlete gets a trophy, and no one takes a "test." Now it's an "assessment." "Correctional facility"....what bu****it!!!

How about crimes against the environment and working people. How about the legal chicanery of theRead More Supreme Court; corporations are people? How about the crime of being above the law or changing the law to legalize misconduct and policy of criminal actions by our leaders? We are all becoming victims of an uncaring unjust system that puts individual rights of property and corporate greed above the people and the future of life here on Earth.
Geoff Cabral April 4, 2014 at 09:41 am
Isn't it about time that banks locate their cameras 6' off the floor and closer to the faces ofRead More their "customers"? I realize that we are all using funny money, so the Fed will just "print" more, but someone could get hurt or killed during these bank robberies. Also, if Patch would like us to try to ID these perps, couldn't they allow their page be zoomed-in by the viewer? /end rant
Jim Copeland April 4, 2014 at 01:06 pm
Well, If you are going to rob someplace it might as well be a Bank----Thats where they have the mostRead More money on hand! Down here in FLA these boneheads are always robbing the 7/11s they get a grand haul of a few hundred dollars and the cashiers Casio wrist watch. The TMZ video I just watched showed what it looked like to be Ray Rice pulling his drunk fiance outRead More of an elevator. He may have been mad at her and had a fight with her but I doubt he had intent to severely harm her or I'm sure she would be in critical condition right now. I am not a football fan or a Ray Rice fan.... I'm just calling it like it is.
