<p>The Farleigh Dickinson University Florham Campus is made up of 178 acres and part of Florham, the former country estate of early 20th century socialites Florence Vanderbilt and Hamilton Twombly ("Florham" comes from their combined first names).</p>
<p>The college at Florham is primarily a residential campus, supported by a strong student life program.</p> <p>The school was founded in 1942 by Dr. Peter Sammartino and his wife and has since become the largest private university in New Jersey.</p> <p>Fairleigh Dickinson offers over 100 degree programs.</p> <p>It became the first American university to own a campus in England when it acquired Wexton College from Trinity College, part of Oxford University, in 1965.</p> <p>The school has a total of four campuses including one in England and another in Vancouver, Canada.</p>
