Shred Documents, Support Madison Rotary

Eco-friendly event lets residents clear clutter, prevent identity theft.

The Rotary Club of Madison will host a document shredding event from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Public Parking Lot No. 1 on Kings Road in Madison (between Maple Avenue and Prospect Street).

The event is open to the public, and is not limited to Madison residents.

Shred-It Inc. is set to return for secure destruction of sensitive documents, after which the shredded papers will be recycled into other paper products.  The practice is eco-friendly, counts toward Madison's Sustainable Jersey Program, helps prevent identity theft, and gives people a chance to clear out some clutter from their homes in time for the holiday season, organizers said.
