Madison Sophomore Directs 'Anne of Green Gables' Musical

Performances this weekend support Madison Community House, Grace Church.

A musical version of "Anne of Green Gables" featuring Madison students will be staged at the Madison Community House this weekend.

Madison High School sophomore Kathryn McManus is directing "Anne of Green Gables, The Musical," with performances 7 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday at the Madison Community House.

The suggested ticket donation is $10 person. Proceeds benefit the Community House and Grace Church, which partnered with McManus to produce this show.

"Anne of Green Gables" features 10 young parishioners from Grace Church, where Kathryn is an active chorister and acolyte, and several other boys and girls from Madison and surrounding communities, according to an announcement for the show.

"Anne of Green Gables" is the second show McManus is directing. Her first was "Laurel’s Gift," a drama McManus wrote that was performed at Grace Church in 2012.

McManus recently appeared in "Midsummer Jersey" at Madison High School. She also appeared in "Shrek, The Musical" last July with the Pixie Dust Players at the Summit Playhouse, "The Music Man" at Madison High School last year, and "Into the Woods, Jr." in 2012 with the Pixie Dust Players.
