Reorganization Meeting, DPW Accepts Christmas Trees This Week
Also this week: Poetry series, Madison schools reopen, library holiday hours.
Library Hours: The Madison Public Library closes early at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, New Year's Eve, and will be closed Wednesday, New Year's Day.
Reorganization Meeting: The Reorganization Meeting of the Madison Mayor and Council is scheduled for 1 p.m. Wednesday at Hartley Dodge Memorial, 50 Kings Road.
Councilman-elect Patrick Rowe and reelected Councilman Robert Catalanello are expected to be sworn in. The agenda is expected to include appointments and reappointments to Boards and Committees for 2014, adoption of resolutions to facilitate borough business, including awarding professional services contracts, and naming of borough officials, according to a meeting announcement.
Poetry Series: The Drew University MFA in Poetry program's January 2014 Readings kick off this weekend. The readings start at 7 p.m. in Mead Hall Founders Room, Drew University. Saturday: Afaa Micheal Weaver and Gerald Stern. Sunday: Shara McCallum and Anne Marie Macari. For more information about the poets and upcoming readings see the event listing.
Christmas Trees: The Department of Public Works on John Avenue will be accepting Madison residents' Christmas trees for recycling from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. For more information call 973-593-3088.
