New Representatives Join Board of Ed This Week

Abuse prevention program, dance premiere, family fun at museum also in week ahead.

Board of Education: The reorganization meeting for Madison's school board is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Madison High School library. New members Leslie Lajewski and Johanna Habib will be sworn in, and the board president and vice president for 2014 will be appointed.

Drop in Knitting:  Join a group of handcrafters 1 p.m. Mondays at the Madison Public Library, 39 Keep Street. Newcomers welcome. Bring your current knitting, crocheting, or other handcraft project, and meet fellow crafty types: 973-377-0722

Abuse Prevention Program: "Bullying, Dating Abuse and Domestic Violence: What's the Connection?" is scheduled to be presented 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Madison Community House, 25 Cook Avenue in Madison. Reservations are not needed and the program is free to all.

Tech Help! 
Each Tuesday, members of the Madison Public Library staff are available for one-hour sessions to help you with your tech gadgets. Reservations are required: 973-377-0722 ext. 2.

MACA Round Table Meeting: Join the Madison Arts & Culture Alliance 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Nautilus Diner for breakfast and to share/find out what is going on with area art and culture groups, artists, teachers, musicians and more. Everyone is welcome.

Family Fun Day: The Museum of Early Trades and Crafts will feature snowflake-making family fun from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. Advance registration recommended: 973-377-2982 ext. 12. Regular Admission.


Dance Premiere: Zaman Dance Theatre Collective will premiere their full length work "Cries of Atrocity- a reflection of the Holocaust, Genocide, and Human Atrocity" featuring the company's full cast of dancers, actors, and vocalists in Madison. The performance is part of Modern Renaissance "X" 2014, scheduled for 7 p.m. Saturday at F.M. Kirby Shakespeare Theatre (Drew University Campus), 36 Madison Ave.
