Madison Council, Car Raffle Tickets This Week

'Buy Fresh/Give Fresh' at farmers' market also on tap.

Borough Council: Madison's governing body is scheduled to meet at 8 p.m. Monday in Hartley Dodge Memorial, the municipal building at 50 Kings Road. Hearings and votes on proposed ordinances appropriating open space funds for fixing the Cole Park fountain and adding a parking lot at the Bayley-Ellard fields are up for vote.

Special Primary Election: Polls are open 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday for a Special Primary Election for U.S. Senate.

Buy Fresh/Give Fresh: The Madison Farmers Market in partnership with Drew University has arranged for market shoppers to be able to donate fresh produce from the market to a local soup kitchen on the third Thursday of each month. The market is open from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Green Village Road off Main Street.

Support the Ambulance Corps: The Madison Volunteer Ambulance Corps is holding a car raffle as part of its 2013 fund drive, and tickets are now on sale. First prize will be a 2013 Honda Accord. Tickets are $100 each with 500 tickets available. Drawing to be held before the Christmas Parade. There's another fundraiser on the horizon: a pig roast on Saturday, Sept. 14. For more information visit madisonems.org
