Local Super Bowl Practice, Road Paving Plan This Week

Hockey fundraiser, rescheduled Board of Ed meeting also in week ahead.

Super Bowl: The Denver Broncos are expected to practice at the New York Jets training center on Park Avenue in Florham Park ahead of Sunday's game against the Seattle Seahawks. The practices are not open to the public. Head coach John Fox told The Star-Ledger he's waiting to see the facility Monday  before deciding whether the team will practice indoors or outdoors.

Borough Council: Madison's governing body is scheduled to meet 8 p.m. Monday in the municipal building. 

Discussions on the 2014 road reconstruction program and  the 2014 operating budget are on the agenda. Discussion of a quarterly report by the Open Space Committee and police regulations also are expected. A proposal to appropriate $1,660,000 for road reconstruction is among the ordinances slated for introduction. You can see the agenda on the borough's website.


Board of Ed: The school board is scheduled to meet 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Madison High School library. The meeting originally was scheduled for last week, but was postponed because of a snowstorm. A copy of the agenda is on the district website.

Hockey fundraiser: The Madison High School hockey team's largest fundraiser is this week the “GOT ICE?!” event is scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday at the Madison Elks Club, 192 Main Street. Everyone is invited to attend the party, which promises to be a fun-filled evening with great raffle prizes, videos and pictures of the games, food, spirits and socializing with sports parents from Madison and Harding.
