Rotary Club Rallies to Support Paralyzed Madison Man

Pig roast fundraiser to help 25-year veteran of the Union Township police force who is now paralyzed from the neck down.

The Rotary Club of Madison will hold a fundraiser next month for a borough resident who is paralyzed from the neck down from a viral infection with no known cure.

Dave Cuozzo, a husband and father of four who has been a Union Township police officer for more than 25 years, contracted the virus in December and remains confined to a wheelchair.

"The road ahead is challenging: physically, emotionally and financially for him and his young family," the Rotary Club wrote in a statement.

Members of the Rotary Club will host a pig roast fundraiser on Saturday, July 12 at St. Vincent Martyr Auditorium on Green Village Road from 6:30 to 10 p.m.

Adult tickets are $35 in advance and $45 at the door. Children ages 6 to 12 are $15 and those under 6 years old are free.

Tickets include food, wine, beer, soda, live music, 50/50 raffle and a silent auction. Tickets can be purchased at Investors Bank, Provident Bank, Union Center National Bank, Fulton Bank, D. Torr, Madison Pharmacy, Main Street Wine Cellar and Drip Coffee Shop.

Checks should be made payable to the Rotary Club of Madison. If you cannot attend the event and would like to donate, checks can be made payable to the Officer Dave Cuozzo Foundation, 981 Caldwell Ave., Union, NJ 07083, Attention Officer Anthony Cavallo.

The Friends of Officer Cuozzo has also been established on YouCaring.com that has raised nearly $15,000 toward a goal of $500,000 to help the Cuozzo family pay for medical expenses and accommodations at their home.
