Madison Rotary Gives $44K to Dozens of Local Groups

Annual distribution benefited nonprofits in six categories.

The Rotary Club of Madison distributed $44,000 to 51 local and area non-profits this month.

The funds were raised through events such as Bottle Hill Day, Taste of Madison, Rotary Family Festival, Shred-It, and the club's annual 50/50 Raffle, Club President Carmela Moeller said.

Madison Rotary also will award $5,000 in college scholarships to high school seniors.

The Rotary Club of Madison, which celebrated its 90th Anniversary May 23, has donated over $1.5 million to local charities and non-profits over the years, and has funded local projects such as Dodge Field, Madison Rose Garden, and the clock on Waverly Place. The club also sponsors donation jars for hunger-related causes.
