Madison Resident Helps College Raise $30K for Cancer Society

A Madison resident recently helped the Misericordia University Colleges Against Cancer Chapter raise $30,375.04 for the American Cancer Society at the student organization’s Relay for Life event.

Madison's Alexandra Graham served as co-chairwoman for the Relay for Life on the campus in Dallas, Pa.

Over the last four years, MU’s Colleges Against Cancer Chapter has raised about $68,000. In 2013, the student chapter raised $17,699. Students raised about $7,000 in 2011—the first year of the event—and $12,910 in 2012.

Organizers of the Relay for Life event at Misericordia University set several goals for event, including raising $20,125 by having 350 participants.
