Madison Man Oversees 54 Rotary Clubs as District Governor

Barry Kroll coordinates local and international service projects for district with more than 1,300 members.

A Madison man will oversee 54 Rotary clubs in five New Jersey counties while he serves as a district governor for the service organization for 2013-2014.

Barry Kroll, a member of the Rotary Club of Madison for 18 years and former CEO of the Madison Area YMCA, has assumed the volunteer post of Rotary 7470 district governor, according to a Rotary news release.

“The main goals for the coming year are to continue providing excellent service projects both locally and internationally that affect the lives of thousands of people," Kroll said.

As governor, Kroll coordinates local community and international service projects for the district, which has more than 1,300 members. The district aims to increase membership by 10 percent.

Rotary’s motto is “Service above Self” and programs are provided in the following areas of focus:

  • disease prevention and treatment
