Connecticut Sun Donates Auction proceeds to TBBCF

UNCASVILLE, Conn. (October 10, 2013) – The Connecticut Sun announced today that it has donated proceeds from its Breast Health Awareness Game auction to the Terri Brodeur Breast Cancer Foundation.

The Terri Brodeur Breast Cancer Foundation (TBBCF) is a local, non-profit group that is committed to fighting breast cancer. Established in 2006 by Norma Logan and Sandy Maniscalo, TBBCF’s name was chosen to honor Terri Brodeur, an Old Saybrook mother of three who succumbed to the disease in 2005.

"The Terri Brodeur Breast Cancer Foundation is honored to be supported by the Connecticut Sun,” TBBCF Executive Director Mary DeVizia said. “It is TBBCF's mission to provide 100 percent of gross fundraising dollars directly towards cutting edge Breast Cancer research through our Scientific Advisory Board's Grant approval process. This donation will help TBBCF fulfill our mission. Thank you Connecticut Sun!"

Held on the Mohegan Sun Arena concourse when the Sun played the Minnesota Lynx on August 22nd, the Connecticut Sun Breast Health Awareness silent auction featured game-worn pink jerseys from all Sun players. It also included a variety of other autographed memorabilia from around the WNBA and professional sports as well as team experience packages.
