Madison's undefeated field hockey team captured the Morris County Tournament this week with a 2-1 win over Parsippany, taking the title for a second year in a row.
Tori Ellis scored the game-winning goal off an assist from Michelle Montagna with about 90 seconds left in the final, according to NJ.com.
Madison's other goal came in the first half when Katie Battaglia redirected a pass from Lexi Dellavia into the goal.
Ellis told the Daily Record the game-winning goal on Wednesday in Boonton was the most important and memorable of her career thus far.
According to the Dodger Online, the team watched clips from "Remember the Titans" to prepare for the game, and, as they huddled after winning, coach Ann Marie Davies celebrated the team's perfect record.
"We stepped on to this field perfect, and we’re leaving this field perfect!" the school paper quoted her as saying.
