Morristown Airport Expects Unprecedented Traffic for Super Bowl

Up to 200 flights expected, report says.

Morristown Municipal Airport expects an unprecedented amount of air traffic leading up to and follow the Super Bowl on Sunday, according to the Daily Record.

Up to 200 flights are expected, with the influx starting Tuesday, the report says.

The airport says on its website it's committed to providing excellent service, but notes the airport's capacity is limited.

"MMU has a long history of providing first class access to those visiting the greater NY/NJ metropolitan area," a notice on the airport's website says. "This event is not different; we remain committed to providing exceptional service to all users of our facility. With that in mind, capacity at MMU is severely limited. The Airport will be utilizing every resource at its disposal to assure that you receive the best service available."

A runway and taxiways "will be closed to accommodate the anticipated influx of air traffic," the notice says.
