Millburn Bests Madison on Diamond

10U baseball dropped in runner-up game.

Just hours after losing to Chatham in the Chatham Invitational Tournament championship game, the Madison 10U baseball team fell to Millburn, 11-4, in the consolation game on Sunday afternoon at Nash Field in Chatham. Millburn put up eight runs over the first three innings.

KEY PERFORMERS
Nine Madison players had at least one hit though no player had two. Patrick McCormick and Kyle Pruzick had the team's only two extra-base hits while Gabe Schlicksup drove in a pair of runs. Starter Nick Abruzzo lasted two innings and gave up three runs.

OUT-OF-YOUR-SEAT MOMENT
With runners on first and third and no outs in the second inning, Gabe Schlicksup laced a single to left field. Both runners scored though Schlicksup was thrown out at second trying to stretch his single to a double. Andy Christos and Patrick Murphy were then retired to end the inning but not before the home team cut the lead to 3-2.
