Photos: Little League Celebrates Opening Day

Players paraded down Main Street to Dodge Field for a ceremony.

Madison Little League is celebrating is 60th anniversary this year, and League President Ernie Cicconi said much of the program's success is owed to Irv Valkys, the league's longtime former treasurer.

Valkys was honored during the league's Opening Day ceremony at Dodge Field on Saturday afternoon.

Players, coaches and fans paraded down Main Street from to the field for speeches and the ceremonial first pitch, thrown by Valkys' son, Mike.

Saturday was a big day for Madison recreation: Opening Day .

Very well deserved recognition for Irv. I've had the pleasure to know him in many different capacities. He always makes a positive difference when he is involved.
