Madison Lacrosse Camp Teams Up to Help Children With Brain Tumors

Building Blocks Lacrosse will donate a portion of its camp proceeds for one week in July to The Friends of Jaclyn Foundation.

Madison-based Building Blocks Lacrosse (BBL) is partnering with The Friends of Jaclyn Foundation to help children with brain tumors.

BBL, a year-round academy offering training in Gillette, West Orange, Summit, Livingston, Morris Plains, Morristown and at the Madison Recreation Complex, features classes for beginners to Division-I players.

The summer camp this year has been expanded to for novices to elite players and will be offered for several weeks at four locations. The camp will partner with FOJ the week of July 7 with a portion of the proceeds donated to help raise awareness for pediatric brain tumors and improve the quality of life for children suffering from them.

“FOJ is an organization that some of our players are aware of since many college sports teams from around the country 'adopt' an FOJ child for their team," said Andrew Hubschmann, founder of BBL.

"At BBL, we think that it is very important for all of our players, both academy students and elite travel team members, to think of others. By partnering with FOJ, we are providing the community with a fun way to learn more about the game of lacrosse while helping a good cause."

The BBL campers will trade pinnies with children from FOJ in exchange for FOJ T-shirts on the last day of camp. Campers will also have the chance to win special prizes and learn more about the organization.

BBL summer camps offer a unique experience that allows players to select programs like "Learnin and Luvin," "Position Specific" and “Ninja” camps.
