Madison High School Wrestling Team Cruise to Win

Defeat Parsippany Hills, 51-27.

Just two nights after losing a tough match to Parsippany, the Madison Dodgers grapplers took out their frustrations on Parsippany Hills by defeating them soundly, 51-27.

Jack Anzul (171) started the onslaught with a first period pin over Chris Mulawka. At 189-pounds, Ed Carr, who has become very fond of using the headlock, used it again to stop his opponent in the third period and Thomas Tracy (215) followed suit, recording a third period pin over Brett Topitz.

After Par Hills forfeited to Madison 285-pounder Michael Boardman, the Dodgers were looking at a 24-0 lead.

At 112-pounds, sophomore Patsy Davis struggled early, but regained his usual form and took home a 6-2 decision.

Two Parsippany Hills pins at 119 and 125 pounds made the score 27-18, but 130 pounder Pete Willis kept Madison on track with a first period pin over Troy Stolt.

145-pounder Ryan Colwell stayed perfect on the year as he cruised past his opponent with a second period pin.

After a forfeit to Madison 152-pounder Christian Mazzocchi, Anthony Costa (160) finished the match with a second period pin and Madison took home the decisive victory.

"It was a good rebound after our loss in the overtime match to Parsippany," head coach Steve Healey said. "We knew coming into tonight that we would probably win fairly comfortably. Some matches got away from us, but the guys who needed to get their jobs done, did. It's a good warm up for us going into our quad match (Saturday)."
