Madison Youth Track & Field Registration

 

Madison Youth Track and Field and the Madison Borough Recreation Department are once again sponsoring a Track and Field Program for Borough children currently in 3rd  through 8th grade (and who will not be 16 before December 31, 2012).  Registration will be held on Saturday, February 4th, 2012 from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM at the Madison Community House, 25 Cook Avenue, Madison. This team will compete in the Lakeland Junior Track and Field League, which is comprised of 16 town-based teams, primarily in Morris County. The registration fee is $40 per child and checks are payable to “Borough of Madison."

Provided with your registration will be a team t-shirt for all children. The following are the age groups that the children participate in (based on the child’s age as of 12/31/2012):

 9-10 year olds (Bantam)   born in 2002-2003

11-12 year olds (Midget)   born in 2000-2001

13-15 year olds (Youth)     born in 1997-1999 (can not be in High School)

 

The events at each Meet are a variety of running distances and two Field events- Long Jump & Shot Put.....there is something for everyone !! The team typically Practices at the Madison High School track during the week and Meets primarily take place on Sunday afternoons. The season begins in mid-late March with practices, followed by Meets which begin in April and continue until early June. 

Volunteers are needed in many capacities such as coaches, assistants, timers, and more. These volunteers are needed for each age division, and at both practices and meets.
