Drew Bests Rival FDU in 'Battle of Madison Ave'

Rangers have not let up a goal to the Devils since 2005.

The men’s soccer team continued its dominant run against cross-street rival (2-4) with a 1-0 win at Ranger Stadium Wednesday evening. Drew (4-1-1) has won 26-consecutive matches against the Devils and has not surrendered a goal since the 2005 meeting

The two squads played to a scoreless first half with the Rangers holding a 9-6 advantage in shots. The second half proved to be a different story beginning with the first and only score of the night by the Rangers in the 52nd minute. Senior Mike Jacques (Princeton Junction, N.J./West Windsor-Plainsboro North) had a shot ding off the right post which ricocheted into the middle of the box and settled on the foot of Kevin Walpole (Newark, Del./Sanford School)  who slammed in the only goal of the night. The score was Walpole’s first of 2012 and 11th of his career.
