UPDATE: Casey Falls in Met Amateur Championship

Madison Golf Club product eliminated in match play.

Madison's Conor Casey was eliminated in match play today at the 109th Metropolitan Golf Association Amateur Championship at Piping Rock Club in Locust Valley, N.Y.

The sixteenth-seeded Casey was defeated 5 and 4 by top seed Alex Edfort of Neshanic Valley Golf Course in the Round of 16.

Casey, representing , earlier carded a one-under-par 74-70-144 through the first two rounds on the on the par-71, 6,846-yard course.

Casey shot a three-over 74, good for a five-way tie for 28th after Wednesday's first round.

The recent graduate and captain of the Villanova University golf team rebounded Thursday from a three-over first round with a one-under 70, which moved him up into a four-way tie for 15th, 10 strokes off the lead.

Casey in July finished ninth in sectional qualifying for the USGA  Amateur Golf Championship.
