Matthews won the Unsung Hero award. The captain suffered her second serious knee injury and missed her senior year of play. Despite being sidelined, Matthews attended practices and warmed up the goalie, worked with the younger girls, and assisted in any way possible. She also worked as team statistician and was considered another coach on the sideline.
