Retirees Honored by Madison School District

Group's combined experience totals 469 years.

The Madison Public Schools honored 18 retirees recently at Madison High School. The number was unusually high this year, coinciding with Governor Chris Christie's continued changes in the realm of state employees and education.

Superintendent Dr. Richard Noonan said the retirees this year had a combined 469 years of teaching experience.

"We  had an awful lot of retirees this year, an awful lot of people to honor and share important words about here tonight," Superintendent Dr. Richard Noonan said. "Trust me, we didn't plan it this way. That's 469 years cumulatively, 469 years of passion and dedication, 469 years of making a huge difference in the individual lives of our students. We wish all of you the very best in the next chapter of your lives."
