IN SHORT

Chatham's Natalia Maurillo scored what proved to be the clincher in the second round of penalty shots, after the first round still left the teams deadlocked. The goal put the pressure on the next Madison shooter, Tori Ellis, and Chatham goalie Kimmy Pyhel. Pyhel came up with the stop to secure the victory for the Cougars.

The game would have never gone into overtime if Madison's Lexi Dellavia hadn't found a way to score in the final second of regulation on a feed from Michelle Montagna. The goal came after Madison had a number of other attempts to tie the game at 2, all of which came up empty.

No one on either team could find the goal in the two overtimes that follwed, which came after two tightly contested halfs in regulation.

THEY SAID IT

"An unbelievable game. It is real hard to lose on a double-overtime and strokes. I am so proud of the kids; they played their hearts out. In a situation like that, it can go either way. A great game."—Madison Head Coach Ann Marie Davies
