School Lunchroom, Roof See Summer Upgrades

Madison High School cafeteria service window and Central Avenue School roof were summer construction projects for the school district.

It wasn't a summer of major construction projects in Madison schools, though work on the schools was done, the Board of Education president said.

A new service window was installed at the cafeteria to accommodate more students under the school's new block schedule, Board of Education President Lisa Ellis said.

And workers undertook a long overdue partial roof replacement at , Ellis said.

The district awarded the roofing project to Polylite Roof Decks Inc. in May. Contractor Sam Cerciello installed the cafeteria the service window.

A stairway leading from the high school weight room to the football field is among the projects that could be in store for the coming year, Ellis said.
