Madison ice hockey ties Montville

Erik Anderson scores twice for the Dodgers.

In a contest of styles – Montville with its precision passing against Madison's rough-and-tumble contact game – neither team was able to drive the nail into the coffin of the other team, as the game ended in a 3-3 tie on Wednesday night.

The game started fast, as Montville's strong passing kept the Dodgers on the defensive.  However passing itself doesn't score points or win games, as approximately halfway through the first period Madison's own Erik Anderson found the right opening to score with assists from Greg Maxwell and Bobby Yutcko. By the end of the first period, the Dodgers had made eight shots on goal vs. Montville's four.

Soon, it was Monville's turn to get on the scoreboard as Mustang Greg Angelino scored with assists from Nick Penella and Kevin Thornton.

In the third period, the teams seemed to find the right combination in their respective styles, as the Dodgers and the Mustangs took turns at scoring.

Montville's Jessie Cannizzo sent one into Madison's net first, then Dodger Brett Perry returned the favor scoring for Madison with assists from Bobby Yutcko and Spencer Waresk. The Dodgers followed that up with yet another goal by Erik Anderson, with assists from Brett Perry and Yutcko.
