Dr. Michael Pritchard, a life coach who uses comedy and years of counseling experience to help students gain insight into themselves, build confidence and address bullying, is scheduled to speak to parents and guardians at 7:30 p.m. Monday at .
Pritchard will share his strategies for preventing the unaddressed grief of children from turning to anger and violence as they grow older.
An announcement for the event says,
Youth may not be telling parents all of the funny, sad, painful, or wonderful things going on in their lives. Or maybe parents are just not listening! Dr. Pritchard has listened and he has some wonderful stories to tell ... stories about kids that parents should know.
Pritchard visited Madison schools four years ago.
"We are so pleased that Dr. Pritchard is returning to Madison," Madison Junior School Principal Nicole Sherrin said in a news release. "His presentation four years ago had a tremendous impact on the students, parents and faculty. We encourage all parents to attend the evening session on March 26."
Pritchard will be speaking to the Madison High School ninth- and 10th-grade students in the morning, and will give his presentation to the junior school students in the afternoon before the evening presentation for parents. The programs are being sponsored by the MJS PTO and MHS PTSO.
