Fans Can Cheer On Dodgers as Team Heads to Title Game

Police to escort team bus through Madison on Friday.

Madison fans can be excused a bit of superstition, what with their football team riding a 24-game unbeaten streak and a second straight state title game coming up Friday. But having the stars aligned sure can't hurt.

Just as they did in 2010, Dodger fans will get a chance to cheer their team as it gets a police escort through downtown on the way to take on Summit Friday at 7:30 p.m. at Kean University. The Union school's Alumni Stadium was the site of Madison's 28-21 victory over Caldwell for the North 2 Group II championship a year ago.

The motorcade will bring the football team from the High School down Park Avenue and then Main Street on their way to Kean. The team is expected to drive through downtown at approximately 4:30 p.m., according to the , which advises fans to arrive a few minutes early just in case.
