Cerciello Endorses Pico, Catalanello for Board of Ed

Borough councilman says candidates represent "change that is needed" on school board.

I have known Carmen Pico for most of my life and I feel his 20 years of service to the School Board of Randolph, in various capacities including School Board Member, make him a clear choice for one of the three Madison Board of Education seats. He is knowledgeable about the workings of a Board of Education but also brings other experience and knowledge that other candidates do not have. Like me, Carmen has experience with construction and maintenance. He can use those experiences to oversee buildings and grounds issues to ensure that no funds are wasted outside the classroom. He is passionate about education and keeping Madison one of the top districts in the state. Carmen believes in going directly to the source of any issue and hears both sides of every situation before making a decision. He is a champion for teachers and feels that they are Madison schools’ greatest asset.

I have not known Brenda Catalanello as long, but I do know she can bring a new voice of fiscal accountability and transparency to the Board of Education. She and her family have lived in Madison for 14 years and she has been an active participant in Board of Education meetings for several years. Brenda is active in the schools and has three young children in the district. She will work tirelessly to make sure that the board will be a responsive organization that is ready to move forward. She is a good listener, outspoken, and wants to bring a different point of view to the Board of Education. She is committed to shared services with the borough that will save tax dollars for everyone. Brenda is dedicated to the children of Madison and ensuring that each child receives the best education that the district can offer.

Both Carmen Pico and Brenda Catalanello represent changes that Madison needs on its Board of Education. I ask you to vote for them on April 27.

Councilman Sam Cerciello
Park Avenue
