Board of Education Schedules Vote on Budget

March 1 special meeting to approve district spending plan.

The Madison has scheduled a special meeting for March 1 at 7:30 p.m. in the Alice Perlaw Library Media Center of .

In an announcement, the board said that the purpose of the meeting is to approve the tentative 2011-12 school budget.

Board administrators on Tuesday revealed that they must cut $1.3 million to balance the budget.

"Action may be taken at this meeting," the board stated.

The district must submit a balanced budget to Morris County, which forwards it to the state, by March 4.
