Standing Committees Set for 2012

Tsukamoto elected Borough Council president.

The at included an array of leadership for standing committees, and a number of appointments by Mayor Robert Conley.

Borough Council member Jeannie Tsukamoto was unanimously elected president of the governing body. She succeeds Dr. Vincent Esposito, who remains on the council.

Tsukamoto also was named to chairwoman the public safety committee, with newly-elected Councilwoman Carmela Vitale as the other member.

Other committee appointees, with chairperson listed first:

Utilities—Esposito, Robert Landrigan

Public Works and Engineering—Donald Links, Robert Catalanello

Finance and Borough Clerk—Catalanello, Tsukamoto

Community Affairs—Landrigan, Links

Health & Public Assistance—Vitale, Esposito

Conley nominated and the council confirmed the following in official borough capacities:

Administrator—Ray Codey, one-year term through Dec. 31, 2012;

Housing Officer—Edward Nunn, Jr., one-year term through Dec. 31, 2012;

Deputy Zoning Officer—Daniel Buckelew, one-year term through Dec. 31, 2012;

Treasurer and Chief Financial Officer—Robert Kalafut, one-year term through Dec. 31, 2012.

Appointed to 60-day terms through March 31, subject to review:

Borough Engineer—Robert Vogel;

Borough Attorney—Joseph Mezzacca, Jr.;

Zoning Officer—Frank Russo.

Other appointments included:

Planning Board (four-year terms through Dec. 31, 2015): Peter Flemming, Sr., Robert Conley. Two-year unexpired term (Vitale) through Dec. 31, 2013: Astri Baillie. One-year term through Dec. 31, 2012: John Forte. Three-year term through Dec. 31, 2013: Jeffrey Gertler, Environmental Commission Representative.

Zoning Board (four-year terms through Dec. 31, 2015): Michael Lami. Two-year term: Diane Driscoll, first alternate. One-year term: Timothy Blair, second alternate.
