Republican Group Out-Raised Democratic Candidates

The three candidates who won Borough Council seats raised over $8,000 more than their opponents in total.

Cerciello, Esposito & Links for Council raised $18,382 for their general election campaign according to public records filed with the state. The group represented republican candidates Sam Cerciello, Dr. Vincent Esposito and Don Links. The three, who were all victorious in their contests, filed jointly, foregoing individual accounts.

Democratic candidates Thomas Haralampoudis, Anthony Occhino and Carmela Vitale each filed separately. Friends of Haralampoudis raised $4,719.40, Friends of Occhino raised $2,144.38, and Friends to Elect Carmela Vitale raised $3,219.39 for their general election campaigns. The democratic candidates raised $10,083.17 in total.

All four candidate groups had money left over, and wrote checks for the remaining dollars to go to their parties' committees. Ceirciello, Esposito & Links for Council wrote a check to the Madison Republican Committee on Nov. 14 in the amount of $1,564.94.

Friends of Haralampoudis wrote a check to the Madison Democratic Committee on Nov. 12 in the amount of $1,594.04, while Friends of Occhino and Friends to Elect Carmela Vitale wrote checks on the same date and to the same committee for $403.71 and $1,192.99, respectively.
