UPDATE: Brief Public Session for Green Village Meeting Today

Joint gathering set for Tuesday afternoon.

One of the borough's biggest planned projects in years will be the focus of a special joint meeting between the Madison Borough Council and members of the Madison , who will convene at 3 p.m. in the Trustees Room at .

The meeting will open in public session for a brief agenda review and then recess to closed session. According to BOE President Lisa Ellis, "the Council and the Board of Education formed a joint GVR Redevelopment Committee last fall with three representatives from each body. At the start of the new year, the borough's representation on the committee changed to four members, thus the meetings now require an official notice from the Borough Clerk because their participation represents a quorum but that is not the case for the Board. This is a legal/contractual matter thus handled in closed session.

"The Board will continue to share as much as allowed by law, as we have been doing, throughout the process at our meetings."

The meeting notice stated that formal action may be taken.
