Meeting will begin at 6 p.m. Friday at Hartley Dodge.

A public hearing and final vote on the 2014 municipal budget is set for Friday evening.

The meeting, which has twice been postponed, will begin at 6 p.m. Friday at the Hartley Dodge Municipal Building.

The proposed $29,557,746 budget will drop property taxes 1.32 percent—$35.39 for the average borough home assessed at $667,218, according to the Madison Eagle.

@LB - Talk about shooting one's mouth off - You might want to review the Republicans' budget proposal before you make ridiculous statements - http://www.rosenet.org/uploads/8/rowe_catalanello_budget.pdf With an increase in Appropriations of over $3M it looks like they'd be paying for a lot, AND Madison's residents would get a REAL break too, not just the $35 your party has proposed. Why don't WE get a break on our electric rates when the borough gets its windfall? It's fine if you want to pay more, but why do the rest of have to as well?

BK - this has nothing to do with politics? Are you kidding? Really - I said "shoot your anonymous mouth off". And I didn't say I want to pay more. I said I didn't care if they used the $ ...

@LB - It's clear that you shot your mouth off without reviewing any of the budget material, AND, that you'd rather turn everyone's attention away from the fact that, as Mr. Arthur succinctly points out, "Keeping rates high is just another name for a “tax"!!! The fact is, the borough council is giving us a few pennies of "tax relief" in hopes that we won't notice the additional MILLIONS they are siphoning from wallets via our electric bills.
