Mayor Part of Celebration of County's Inspirational Women

Madison Mayor Mary-Anna Holden one of six honored by County Prosecutor's Office and New Jersey Women in Law Enforcement at Women's History Month Celebration.

Madison Mayor Mary-Anna Holden was honored Wednesday night at the third-annual Women's History Month Celebration hosted by the Morris County Prosecutor's Office and the New Jersey Women in Law Enforcement.

Holden and five other women in law enforcement and public service received awards in the Freeholder's Public Meeting Room of the Administration and Records Building in Morristown.

As part of the event, Senator Anthony Bucco and Morris County Prosecutor Robert Bianchi both complimented the honorees for their work. Also speaking to the accomplishments of the six were Chief William Chievella and Detective Keisha Higgs, who organized the event.

Along with the kinds words, a tribute to women's history month was performed by the Carpe Motus Dance Company of the College of St. Elizabeth through interpretive dance. Other tributes were LaShon Whitfield's special version of "Unwritten" by Natasha Bedingfield, and New Jersey Poetry Out Loud Regional Finalist Monika Michaluk's recital of Maya Angelou's "I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings."

The other five women honored along with Holden were Michele Brown (Appointments Council, Office of the Governor), Cynthia R. Wofford (Special Agent in Charge, United States Secret Service), Carolyn Williams (Assistant Special Agent in Charge, Bureau of Alcohol and Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives), Victoria Craig (Director of Administration for Art in the Atrium) and Kisha Pippins-Fields (President, AKA Inc., Pi Theta Omega Chapter).
