Speeding wasn't a factor in that accident, police have said, which Council President Jeannie Tsukamoto noted during the meeting and said the incident was still under investigation, but lowering the speed of traffic in general would give drivers more time to react to situations and lessen the impact of any collisions.

The resolution says " have recorded a number of vehicular accidents and pedestrian injuries throughout the years at this location; and ... major commerciail development has taken place along the Park Avenue corridor resulting in dramatically increased traffic flow," and that a copy of the request would be forwarded to Florham Park, Morris Township and state legislators, as well as the Freeholders.
