Assemblyman Says His New Office Is Yours, Too

Officials from around District 27 attended grand opening of John McKeon's new offices on Main Street in Madison on Wednesday.

Elected officials, candidates and residents from around Morris and Essex counties mingled at the grand opening of Assemblyman John McKeon's new offices on Main Street in Madison on Wednesday evening.

McKeon said his office is also the office of the people he represents in the General Assembly, including residents of Madison and Chatham Township, which became part of his legislative district last year.

Madison Mayor Bob Conley cut the ceremonial ribbon and said Madison is happy to be represented by him, and even happier to have him move his office to the borough.

The Democratic state legislator moved his Assembly offices to 250 Main Street earlier this year, following last year's legislative redistricting in which several Morris municipalities were added to the 27th Legislative District that he represents, along with Sen. Richard J. Codey and Assemblywoman Mila M. Jasey.

"Following redistricting, we felt it was important to move our legislative offices to Morris County to ensure that district-wide, residents have easy access to constituent services by having an office located in their area," McKeon said.
