Whippany Man Under the Influence of Heroin Flips Car on Rosedale Ave., Cops Say

Andrew Bello, 23, faces several charges for accident

A Whippany man was under the influence of heroin when he was involved in a one-car rollover accident earlier this month on Rosedale Avenue, Madison Police said.

Andrew Bello, 23, was charged with possession of a Schedule I drug, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of hypodermic needles, possession of CDS in a motor vehicle, driving under the influence within 1,000 feet of a school zone, careless driving and failure to maintain lane.

According to police, Officer Luis Goncalves responded to the one-car accident on Rosedale Avenue near Lewis Drive at about 7:40 p.m. on May 11.

Goncalves and Officer Stephanie Corrao investigated the crash and observed in plain view hypodermic needles and several folds containing suspected heroin, police said.

Bello was charged and released to a family member pending a court appearance.
